The King Edward VI Academy Entry Exam: Overview

There are 30 places that will be awarded based on academia. This will be done by taking the entry exams and the top 30 applicants who also meet the minimum requirements of a standardised score of 220 will be admitted.
Catchment Area
Priority of places will be given to those living closest to the school, measured by straight line.

If more applicants achieve the qualifying score than there are places available, the following oversubscription criteria are applied:

Complete the Common Application Form (CAF) via your local authority’s website by 31 October 2025, listing King Edward VI Academy as a preference. Simultaneously, register for the 11+ test through the school’s official website by 10 July 2025.
The 11 Plus exam consists of two multiple-choice papers: Verbal Reasoning (50 minutes) and Non-Verbal Reasoning (50 minutes), assessing logical thinking and problem-solving skills. Age-standardised scoring applies.
The 11 Plus for KEVI is competitive. Typically, applicants need to rank within the top 25% of results to secure a place. If there are more applicants than available places, additional criteria are applied to determine priority.
